01 · Hide
ClearBar hides every third-party icon and leaves Apple’s alone. Quit ClearBar and they all come back.
02 · Find
Type a few letters, press Return, and that app’s own menu opens. Want one back in the menu bar, like the weather? Drag it up.
03 · Measure
Memory under every app, helpers included. Anything over 1 GB turns orange.
04 · Quit
Hover, click ×, done. The app still gets to save your work. Hold ⌥ to Force Quit.
05 · Docker
Running Docker? ClearBar lists every container with its image and memory, heaviest first. One click stops it. Works with Docker Desktop, OrbStack and Colima.
06 · Shortcut
Record your own keyboard shortcut in Settings, then press it from any app to show or hide your icons. There’s no default, so it never takes a shortcut another app uses.
07 · Languages
ClearBar follows your Mac’s language. Nothing to set up, no switch to find.

Tools like Bartender and Ice are built to arrange icons. ClearBar hides them too, then goes further: it shows what every app costs and lets you quit it, without asking for a permission that can see your screen.

Privacy
ClearBar needs it to read and press menu bar items. It never asks for Screen Recording and never takes screenshots.
No account, no tracking, no telemetry. Your app list and memory readings stay on your Mac.
License activation, validation and transfers connect to Dodo Payments and our license service. Memory is sampled only when the panel is open.
Testimonials
ClearBar does one thing and does it well: it tames my menu bar. Setup took a minute and I haven’t thought about it since — which is exactly the point. Liked it so much I bought it twice.

Professor Kristiyan-Daniel Iliev@regalness on Instagram / @kd on TikTokSince macOS 27, I’ve been experiencing recurring issues with Bartender and similar applications, so I find your approach incredibly refreshing: an app that keeps everything neatly organized in one compact place. … I liked it enough to purchase two licenses right away, one for my iMac and another for my MacBook Pro.
Sven OwsianowskiSwitched from BartenderReviews software at wattblicker.deJust bought ClearBar today! It’s a beautifully simple app. My main reason for buying: getting a clean menu bar on macOS 27 without giving up Screen Recording permissions! Ice stopped working for me, so this is a huge privacy win. 👏
KaramSwitched from Ice@karamshhada on ThreadsI have already tried different apps that make my menu bar cleaner, but I never liked the apps or the permissions were too many as necessary. That’s why I gave your app a try and I’m very convinced of it!
benzorichTried other menu bar apps@benzorichx on ThreadsI’ve always used menu bar management apps, and ClearBar has been my favorite ever since I upgraded to Golden Gate. It’s powerful and easy to use. It’s simple, straightforward, and I’d rate it 10/10. I highly recommend this app, especially if you’ve had problems with others. This app does not let you customize the appearance of your menu bar, and that’s something worth knowing but that’s because it is not an invasive app. It does exactly what it says it does: it shows and hides menu bar icons and shows how much memory each app is using. Simple, and that’s all I need.I bought ClearBar because I needed a way to organize my menu bar, which was getting pretty messy. I came across your app on Threads, and it was the best one I found! As soon as I saw the way that [ClearBar] tackles having a busy menu bar, I just had to test it out. Perfect... I now have an uncluttered menu bar and easier to manage apps. Great solution to an ever increasing problem (for me anyway). Thank you
